BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION

Mr. Butts was born in Bloomington, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Illinois in 2008. He attended Southern Illinois University School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2012, graduating Cum Laude. Mr. Butts worked for the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s office and in the insurance defense field before joining Hartweg, Turner, Wood & DeVary, P.C.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS

Mr. Butts is the Social Chair for the McLean Bar Association and sits on the McLean County Bar Association Board of Governors.  Mr. Butts is the co-chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the McLean County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Illinois Bar Association.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Mr. Butts volunteers for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and is a board member of the Child Protection Network.  He is a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club sitting on its board and the Rotary Foundation Board, as well as being a member of NEXT Professionals.
